You should know that US Congressman Lee Zeldin, will visit Bronx County to address the Members of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization. This meeting will take place this Thursday, August 5, at 10:00, during the clergy’s weekly meeting, at The Christian Community Neighborhood Church, located at 1437 Longfellow Avenue Bronx, New York.
It is important for you to know that Mr. Zeldin, before becoming Congressman, served for many years as a New York State Senator and is now one of the leading Republican candidates for governor of the State of New York.
It is well known that 30% of the Hispanic vote throughout New York City, (specifically the Christian Evangelical Community) crossed over and voted for the Republican Party during this past election.
Many experts have opined that the reason for this Latino exodus from the Democrat Party is due to the chaotic conditions in which Governor Andrew and Mayor Bill de Blasio have run the State and the City of New York for the past years.
It is important for those in leadership positions like Congressman Zeldin to visit the different community groups thru out the state, address issues of concern, and begin the healing process. If the Republican Party and its candidates for governor, take advantage of this situation and begin to invest their time and resources in our communities, we will likely see Latino votes increase from 30% to 35 or 40 percent for the Republican Party come next year’s governor’s elections. This could decide if our next governor will be a Democrat or a Republican.
In addition to Congressman Lee Zeldin, former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is also a Republican candidate for governor of New York State.
This is Councilman Rev. Ruben Diaz, and this is what you should know.
