NEW YORK, NY — Yesterday, New Yorkers for Donovan released a powerful new ad highlighting New York City Mayoral Candidate Shaun Donovan’s wealth of experience serving New York City and the entire country as both federal Housing Secretary as well as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama. The 30-second ad, which has hit airwaves and digital platforms across the five boroughs, is the first television ad to be released by any of the mayoral candidates and features Donovan in action while tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our city and nation.
In a story by The New York Times, former President Obama’s spokeswoman Katie Hill praised Shaun Donovan’s past work, noting that “Secretary Donovan helped lead our country out of the 2008 housing crisis, and later, as the director of O.M.B., he steered top policy priorities like health care access, climate change, inequality and public health, including pandemic preparedness and response.”
From leading the federal effort to help New Yorkers recover from Hurricane Sandy to helping effectively contain the Ebola outbreak, Donovan has been on the frontlines in moments of crisis and helped our country recover during unprecedented times. Donovan has more substantive experience than any other candidate in the Mayoral contest, and he will use that experience to help New York City navigate the unprecedented times we are currently living through, all while making this city a city that works for all New Yorkers.
