The San Antonio-based Children’s Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA (CRIT), is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, offering comprehensive rehabilitation services for children with neurological, muscular, and skeletal disabilities. CRIT recognizes that disability requires treatment from multiple perspectives, not just traditional medical rehabilitation. CRIT model of care includes the following domains: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. This approach improves outcomes as it addresses the whole person and the entire family. Since it opened in 2014, CRIT has assisted more than 890 families from 44 U.S. states, but more than 1,400 children are on the waiting list.
TeletonUSA, a non-profit organization, has enjoyed massive support from the Hispanic community throughout the nation since the first telethon aired on Univision in 2012. All donations are tax deductible and are used solely to enable CRIT to continue to elevate the quality of life of children with disabilities.
